AWA Crêperie & Café is a French-inspired café located in the heart of Fitzroy at 180 Brunswick St. We opened our doors in June 2023, bringing authentic French crêpes, pastries, and a touch of French café culture to the neighborhood.
Our menu is a tribute to traditional French flavors, featuring both sweet and savoury crêpes, alongside carefully selected coffees and beverages. We’re passionate about creating a warm, inviting space where locals and tourists alike can experience a taste of France, right here in Melbourne.
My name is Wali and I am originally from Paris. I’ve been living in Australia for the past nine years. Growing up, I was always a foodie, experimenting with cooking at home and developing new recipes. When I arrived in Australia, I fell in love with the hospitality industry and knew I wanted to create a space where people could enjoy a great atmosphere and simple, delicious food. Over the years, I’ve worked as a barista and coffee roaster, further cultivating my passion for the culinary arts and hospitality.

We love being on Brunswick Street because it's the beating heart of Melbourne’s café culture. The street has a vibrant energy that blends creativity, diversity, and authenticity – a perfect place for coffee lovers, food enthusiasts, and those who crave an inspiring atmosphere. The dynamic mix of people, from locals to travelers, creates a warm and welcoming community feel. Moreover, it reminds me of Le Marais in Paris, which is my favorite area in my home city.
