For me, the main part about hospitality is about being hospitable, being generous, and I like that side of things. Giving people the experience that I know what it feels like to receive. You know? The delight of dining out and having good service and good food and being pleasantly surprised by a venue when you visit. I know how rewarding that is, and to know that I can be part of giving that to people is a real joy.

I know that I live in a little bit of a bubble in the way the things that I care about or are focused on and in my friendship circles, the media that I follow, the politics that I care about, You know? They are very much within my world. It’s like, if I reach out my arms and now you’re in my arm width, now you’re in my world, Yeah and that’s kind of how I’ve lived my life for for a very long time. And I like that you can create your own world and and everyone kind of respects that, and you don’t want things to impede it. You don’t really need to worry about that but for the things and the people that I do have time for, I really care about, I can be equally as passionate about them as they are.

“If I reach out my arms and now you're in my arm width, now you're in my world.”

Why Brunswick Street?

I like that there's a real change in the street from from the top end to the bottom end. As you walk from the hospital on Victoria Street, over Gertrude Street and then right down to Alexander parade there are so many different feels, different zones, even between day and nightlife. Yet, as a whole, you could walk the entire street watching, looking and browsing.

On Brunswick Street you get a real sense of belonging, there's a real difference in demographics and a large scope of business operations and offerings.

You can just walk, it's a street to stroll down! Like if you've got nothing to do and you're sitting at home, you can go for a stroll. You can walk right up Brunswick Street aimlessly and look around and talk to people, then before you know it you are already at the other end... So you turn around and walk across the other side of the street and there's something different that you'll see, or a snack that you'll have and that you didn't even know about. But yeah thats a thing to do in itself. Just to go for a walk!
