Clémence

I just love being able to tell the little girl I was a few years ago. …That I am now working as a writer in a language that is my third language, I’m really proud of that, and I want to continue to impress that little girl, because I was a child with not much self confidence, and I think I’ve come a long way, and I’m proud of that, and I want to continue and be the best version of myself, not to prove to other people, but just to prove to the little girl who was uncomfortable and is a bit self conscious that if she sets her heart on something, she can do anything.

“People say that Melbourne people only wear black, but I think they've not been to Fitzroy.”

Why Brunswick Street?

And I've always loved Melbourne, especially this area (Fitzroy). it feels like home to me, it feels European. The style is very European, very colourful. People say that Melbourne people only wear black, but I think they've not been to Fitzroy. So I just feel so at ease here, because for me it's really bizarre, because I've lived so long in Paris or in big cities in Europe, like Berlin or other cities in France, but you can never really see the sky because everything is so built up. And in Fitzroy, everything is like one two story houses, and it's just incredible, because you've got this feeling of being not in the countryside, but not in the city either. It's just like a big village.
